Anyone find a better front license plate bracket. The factory included bracket seems flimsy. I have PPF applied under the bracket but concerned the bracket will tear up then PPF and paint from excess rubbing due to how flimsy it is. Our state requires running the single plate on the front.
I had the dealer remove mine before I took possession of the truck. They set the bracket in the back seat along with the window sticker and all the factory transport stickers for me to keep.
I'm lucky/glad that Arkansas doesn't require a front plate.
@Ford Fest Sorry this doesn't help with your question.
Very interested in a better bracket as well. The OEM is flimsy and doesn't even sit straight on my truck. And for the boys that say, "just don't run one... I don't and I never got a ticket," please stop. That's not the question, and some of us MUST remain in compliance with the law.
Ohio removed the requirement for a front plate just in the last couple of years, but on my previous 2016 RAM 2500 there was no front bracket - just threaded nylon nuts on the front bumper but nothing to help support the flimsy metal license plate. Mine would get bent just from the water pressure of a touchless car wash, so I bought a stainless steel frame on Amazon to help add some rigidity.

Missouri only provides one plate for trucks licensed as 12,000 or 18,000. The plate has to be mounted up front otherwise I would remove it. I too thought the plate was off center but it appears that it is centered to the blue oval. The center open area behind the plate causing it to look that way. It is what it is for now.
I did a different front (flimsy) plate to move it lower. Think it is the pre-23 plate IIRC, there is a thread on it somewhere.
Wanted to open up the space for a small light bar. Did have to drill a couple holes SS self tappers, which did make it
feel stronger, mounting wise.

Cut off top mount brackets, as they did not reach inner edge of 23 bumper.
The front license plate brackets are pretty cheezy... but they seem to stay put. They literally just clip on, even on the F-150's, too, I believe, but I've never had an issue with them.
TX insists on a front plate, too... and they will give you a ticket.

You could run a few layers of foam tape or even duck/duct tape along the back side of the bracket to help keep from messing up the PPF. If the rigidity is the main issue, order an aftermarket aluminum one.
Ooo - I don't have a front license plate (knock on wood) but that is a pretty sweet way to do it. I'm in TX, east of Dallas, didn't get a front plate from the dealer, no bracket or anything. Haven't been stopped yet, not for that anyway. All toll roads and parking garages work just fine.
