Aside from the money, I will say that it is the best upgrade I ever made to the engine. Hind sight it was a decent PITA to install but if you route correctly and install chafe protection it will last a lifetime. I want to say its going on 10 yrs and not one leak or issue.
Total peace of mind knowing it will never be an issue. It takes towing to another assurance level ESPECIALLY in hot temps and long pulls up grades, pair that with the mechanical severe duty fan, it is a match made in heaven.
The main problem with the OEM system, is the heat exchanger adding deadly heat to your coolant and very hard to shed once it is at its limit.
If this stuff wasn't so expensive, I would install this system in my other truck to test it and have a comparison. My converted 6.0 with camper weighs 6.5 tons / 14330lbs.
On long climbs and high temperatures I switch on the fan below 100°C / 212°F. With my cooling system, the temperatures do not rise any further. For me, this manual cooling fan switching and monitoring the temps is the simplest and cheapest solution.
I work a lot on agricultural machinery, where we often have problems with leaks in hoses / connections. That's the reason why I think the BPD system is critical. The fewer hoses I have on the engine, the better I like it.
