But what they took away, a month or so ago, is the ability to see which of your posts were liked. On the right where it says "Likes" it used to say "Likes" and "Liked". If you clicked on "Likes" it would list all of the posts you made that someone else liked.
I just noticed the "FTE Silver" in the upper right corner of your post, Ken. Then I saw I had one too. At first I thought it meant I was a senior citizen, like at the gym seniors get a discount called Silver Sneakers. Then I thought Ken is you get them me and I remembered I paid extra for the Silver membership.
Not many of us use this option, myself included. I'm not sure why the powers that be gave us this option. Maybe they wanted to be like Facebook.
Anyhow the "Like" button was on the lower right of a post next to "Quick Reply." Now it's on the lower left.... See it?

Important to keep in mind that web forums, chats, and multiplayer games with chats, all can be careful exercises in social engineering. Take game chats, as just one example. There you will find semi-permanent residents, usually under a variety of names, doing role play. They are responsible for keeping discussion frivolous and for fraying discussion about anything significant or outside of the box.
I use the “Like” button as a form of saying, “thanks for posting pertinent information”. Especially if it’s something I can directly use.
I'm with Dturk on this one. A simple click of a button tells the author of a post that their efforts and the information they supplied was appreciated!
I'm confused...but I'm going out on a limb and guessing you are all using computers and that is what has changed. Because the like or "thumbs up" has always been where it's at for me...but I use my phone. 🤷
As previously mentioned I like the " like " for the simple reason that a post can be acknowledged as being of interest without adding another post to a thread with nothing more than an " atta boy " .
