I have a 01 7.3 just replaced up pipes, EBPD, a 66/88 turbo housing, now I’m not really building boost, I make around 5psi at 2500rpm, boost gauge worked before I did the work, I checked all boots, I checked the wastegate and that’s not stuck open. there is no leaks anywhere. truck smokes black. I can hear the turbo whistle around 1k rpm after it goes above that I can’t hear the whistle anymore. when I romp on it, I did notice my fuel pressure gauge will drop to around 40psi, would my fuel pickup screen cause my truck to not build boost like it’s been, I have unplugged the MAP sensor and truck doesn’t seem to get better, map line is not clogged, if someone can point me in the right direction

Low fuel pressure can cause your issues. I would get that resolved and see what happens.
A simple trick to see what way the issue is would be to disconnect the fuel line from the rear of the pump and run a hose to a fuel can. if the truck still acts up; its from the pump forward. If the problem goes away, then its in the tank
