I hate California... The most expensive Federal cat for my truck is $741. Mine is either $1,725, or $1,572 depending on which one it needs. Just for the record, I paid $1,500 for the whole truck! LOL Of course, that was before the fiasco of trying to get the tensioner/timing chain problem fixed, and then trying to get an engine for it, and get it passing the smog test. I have a little over $6k in it now, which is about what it is worth if I were going to try and sell it. Of course, nobody will buy it knowing that it needs a catalytic converter. Besides, I need it to haul my mobility scooter. The VA paid for a Bruno scooter lift which they also paid to have installed. That is why I am keeping the truck. Would cost too much to find another one, then have the lift transferred over.

Jim, 3 out of 4 cats can be replaced without buying the entire system. Get your codes read. Determine which cat is foul. With any luck, an exhaust shop will be able to cut and weld the replacement.
