I am stripping down my doors, off of my 1955 F-100, for media blasting and painting.
Since I plan of rebuilding the entire door assemblies, my question is, will the 1956 Window Regulator work on the 1955 door?
I know the 1955 regulator has two arms and rollers whereas the 1956 has one. If the doors are the same, from the back of the vent window, rearward, then it may work. I know the 56 has a different window channel, on the bottom, to work with the single regulator arm.
Has anyone tried it. If so, is there an advantage.
My 1955 regulators are all locked up, so they need an entire rebuild or replacement.
Never gave it any thought. It has to be different otherwise ford would have carried over the 53-55 regulators.
I'm going to go out and set a 55 reg next to a 56 reg and see what's different in the mounting areas etc

Thanks for checking.
It seems that most window regulators that I have seen since 1956, have a single arm.
I do not know if they did it to save money, or if it works better.
Since I have to buy new parts anyway, I want to get what works best. I will definitely go with the 1956 door handles. I want the set screw, and not the clip.
