Trying to install cowl vent seal on 1954 ford and having a heck of a time. Cleaned surface good and tried to dry fit first installed in corner and was doing good until I got to other corner and can't get to fit as the seal bunches up because seal is too long. Are you supposed to cut a small section out and glue ends back together to compensate for the extra length? Bought from Mac's auto and was wondering has anyone else ran into this on install. Thanks.
Hopefully this will help, and the link works. MidFifty was a great source of information for our hobby. FYI Their site is still up with there instructions still available. https://m.midfifty.com/inst2/INST-0902.pdf

I fought this for a long time! I finally cut the seal, took out a 1/4" or so and super glued the ends back together, when I finally got it where the vent would close all the way with the seal in place I will not open the vent again, with the vintage air it would not open very far anyway
