Man, I am out of money and y'all keep throwing these things out here. I still need to get an oil pump for the Flex so I can start working on it. I figured since it's opened up, might as well replace that wear item too.

An oil pump for the flex .... chump change. 😉
$6,500 on the '16', $450 on the '21' and soooooo many ideas from this damn forum.
Just finished paying $5K off one credit card for repair parts on 3 cars, now my pellet stove died, so have to run an electric heater to replace it, so thats going to cost. I want to replace the chain and stuff so I don't waste oil on a second oil change, its due for one, but I need the pump and oil and filter and coolant. Never ends, have more expenses than money. Then the battery in my moms car died yesterday, there goes another $150.
Then YOU GUYS put out more things for my truck! SMDH

I feel you...expenses sux. I have one last big one of tires for the dually and that should be it for the hemorrhaging for the must haves. Good thing Diode Dynamics lights are back ordered on everything I would like for 8+ weeks or another $1000 would be gone.

Speaking of Diode Dynamics, the SD bracket kit came in... fast shipping. Now just got to get some decent weather on one of my days off and get 'er fixed, my broken driver side fog light mount.. $100 for one bracket... having a cool diesel with the cool LED foglights ain't cheap yo!
Yeah if it ain't one thing, it's another. That's for damn sure...
Thankfully I was able to quickly refinance the truck to a much lower APR and push the next payment out to January so I have some spare cash to help resurrect the check book until I can sell off my load of hay in the barn. Thats what has been messing me up as I normally will have it all sold by now. I have about $1500 in hay sitting waiting to be sold. Thats what I usually use to pay for car and other repairs. I also had to buy a new rake this year which has set me back a bit.
This is so weird. I went out and bought some good old use equipment and a new tractor, well tractor was a gettin regardless, so I can convert my horse pastures into a big hay field, which will convert it back to AG use and lower my taxes. I only planned on cutting 4 acres and selling the hay, so the old used equipment would be no big deal. Well one field turned into 2, then 3, and now I have 5 fields to cut, and the old rake just stopped working and is so old that replacement parts are all used and worn. Regardless of what rake to get, I would have to finance it since it would be well over $5K for a decent used rake, and after looking at rates, it was cheaper to buy a new Kubota rake. What started out as a simple thing to cut taxes turned out to be a bigger job than expected. I am spending at least 2 weeks a year just cutting hay, and weather permitting I can usually get by on a weekend, but this last year I wound up having to use PTO to get it done. Too late to say F it and sell it all, I'm too invested. At least two fields I just have to cut rake and bale, the owners rack and stack the hay I don't have to get out of the cab. Wish I could do that for all the fields. Cheaper that way, I don't need to pay anyone to stack the hay in the barn.
Guess how much my taxes went down after all this?
$800, less than 10%. My neighbor has same amount of farm land and has half the amount of taxes I do.

Man that's one helluva story... good luck with the fields...
I bought my 16 without having my parent's house, which i owned, closed on yet and taking on another mortgage (truck payment). By the time the first payment was due, it was a whopper since i really didn't have a lot to put down, the house closed and I sent in two payments worth and an extra 30 grr, then refinanced at my credit union and brought it down to almost half...
The only things certain in life are bills, taxes and death.
This reminds me when I was 17 living thousands of miles from family and friends …..knew no one.
Walked into a supermarket with $1.60 in my pocket. $1.60 for food for the weekend (had nothing ) and 25 cents was needed to take the bus to work Monday morning…and if I had 60 cents left over after that on Monday morning I could have a dam good hot breakfast …all I could eat. Had to walk 2 miles from the bus stop then 2 miles to work.
i left the supermarket with a bag of damaged goods that was on the clearence shelf. Food for the weekend and then some. Money for the bus, and money for that dam good breakfast.
cant say I was at the bottom of the barrel at that point….more like fell thru a hole and wasn’t even in the barrel anymore.
Since this is your thread, I don't feel like I'm turning it into another "This is prolly a 1 page thread" off-topic, but did you see my suggestion for your CCV, Fritz? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post21425298

saw that..thanks...mulling over what I am going to do
Because I was on EBay perusing those kits, I received a email from a seller saying they are accepting offers for one of the kits. You can definitely get those parts dirt cheap as stated before when you figure out how you're doing it....

Sellers apparently get notified if you've viewed their listing, thus the offers. The trick to not receiving the unsolicited offers is to clear everything in your Recently Viewed section in your option list before leaving the site. Seems to work for me.

I've had luck getting some deals from unsolicited offers. Thanks for the tip though.
