06 6.0 was driving down the road started smoking white loosing power then died and won’t restart at all now what direction do you guys thing I should be looking in?
Typically white smoke is coolant in the combustion chamber i.e. usually a blown head gasket. If the smoke had a blue tinge it is excessive fuel in the combustion chamber. Each problem has it's own diagnostics. What were the conditions when the problem developed - WOT under load or just cruising down the road unloaded. The more info you can provide the better.
I think I would start with a fuel pressure check. 6.0I have been known to have injector bolts loosen up and if that happens raw fuel will dump directly into the combustion chamber. I had this happen to my 03 4×4. Running a fuel pressure check would verify this problem if the fuel pressure does not stay up after the fuel pump shuts off.
If that passes I'd do a coolant pressure check to verify the cooling system integrity to rule out a head gasket.
Loose injector Loose injector with damaged o-ring Another view of the damaged o-ring. Neighboring injector to loose injector. Fuel ports clogged with o-ring shed from loose injector.
Aside from the injector being loose, the injector will be discolored from the fuel o-ring down from carbon deposits. Make sure you get all of the material out of the fuel ports on the head if this ends up being your issue.
Looks like you have some serious gremlins. I would start looking at the engine harness where it traverses over the top of the engine. There are numerous areas where the harness can chafe on the intake and it's bolts and around the fuel/oil filter housing. I point to that area because of all the PCM codes related to the icp and turbocharger. Good luck!
I'd recommend going to the 6.0 section of the forum (or have a mod move this to there). There are active members there that can provide some good insight to troubleshoot this. Please take a look at some of the pinned threads (specifically the 2nd one); there is great information that will help identify what information you can collect to help the members there troubleshoot your issue.
