Clicking noise when transmission shifts
Clicking noise when transmission shifts
I have a 2018 F250 6.2 with the 6R100 transmission. It's a high mileage example with just over 200,000 miles.
Since the weather in my area has gotten cold in the last week I have noticed a click when the transmission shifts up, most notably between the 2-3 and 4-5 shifts. It doesn't present itself all the time, and it seems to do it whether the truck is cold start or warmed up.
I've only had the truck for 6 months, so this is the first cold weather for me to drive the truck in and it could be normal but the first I'm hearing it. It seems to shift great otherwise and I have no reason for concern other than this little noise. I am inclined to ignore it but just wanted to tap the knowledge here to see what others may say.

Perhaps someone else has heard this same noise and can advise?
If nothing else check fluid level and maybe do a fluid/filter change? If that yields nothing then maybe monitor it to see if it gets worse or changes?
Good luck,
Mike
