I’m new to the forum and am having trouble with what I see posted a lot: the door ajar alarm/chime on my 2015 F150 XLT.
It’s driving me crazy! I’ve checked the wire connections in the boot/conduit, none are broken but it keeps chime and indicates Drivers Door Adar. I’ve sprayed lubricants and WD40 in the lock mechanism but still no relief.
I’ve seen some posts about using FORscan to disable it. I’m not well versed in the tool but it sounds promising. Can someone help this new guy with any info you have on it, please? Will it disable the door ajar feature altogether or just the chime sounds?
Do I need to buy the extended version of it? Windows (laptop) or IOS/phone version (I heard in order to make any changes you have to get Windows but I’m not sure)?
And what sort of adapter?
Thanks In advance for any and all help!
When my Super Duty did that, I had to replace the door latch. It was the only thing that fixed it. You may try connecting the two wires that go to the switch to see if it will complete the circuit.
