My truck is about due for an oil change, just hit 190k miles last weekend.
I have seen some info on the Wix being a bad choice in replacement. That's all I've used since I put the BPD air/ oil cooler on years ago so I'm a little bothered by that.
So which filter is anyone using with their setup? I don't have the oil bypass just the old school remote filter.
I was considering the Baldwin BT349. Seen it recommended over on another forum.
Also Carquest 85832 might be ok? Seems to now be made by the same parent company as the Baldwin but maybe slightly inferior.
Another option may be the Donaldson P551604 but not sure with the flow rate.
WIX 51832 from Filter1. Order 2 at a time and they are (or were) cheap. IIRC they're the same as the Carquest but, regardless, they work great. I changed my oil every 5K and filter every 10K. It was still running with over 400K miles last time I talked to the current owner. I sold it at 325K.
