PSOM Interchangeability

Hello, a buddy of mine needs a new PSOM for his F-350. I’m aware that they are all interchangeable but obviously mileage will be different. I know they’re programmable, but are they programmed different for different axle gear ratios or are they all the same?

Axle ratio has nothing to do with how fast the tire is spinning down the road.
You can put what ever gear in you want, and the ring gear will always be rotating at the same speed/time as the tire.

Any 1992 and up PSOM will work. I believe the 1995 and up version resists needle bounce better than the previous years. There used to be repair services available as well.
