Sync Screen
Sync Screen
Yesterday during my drive home from Florida I lost my Sync screen. I stopped at a rest area for a break and when I got back to the truck and started it up the Sync screen was blacked out. Thought originally it could be processing an update but today when I went out and started the truck the screen is still dark. I noticed last night when it was dark the screen was very faintly flashing on and off. You could barely see it flashing. Anyone else have this problem and was able to solve it. I plan to stop by the dealership service department on Monday on my way home from work to set up an appointment to get it fixed.
This has happened to me before. When I owned my 2014 Taurus one day the screen just went black. I shut off the vehicle got out and locked it. Waited for a few minutes got back in and started the vehicle up and the Sync screen came back on and I had no further issues with it.
A couple years ago I was travelling and on my 2022 F-150 TREMOR the screen just suddenly went black. I tried the same procedure that worked on the Taurus but no go screen was still black. I figured I would take it to the dealership service department when I got home from my vacation. However the next morning when I started the truck back up the screen came back on. I had no further problems with the screen and it was still working when I traded it in on the Ranger.
I was hoping that would work when I went to use the truck again today but alas the screen is still blacked out. If anyone knows any tricks that might work please let me know. I was thinking of disconnecting the battery overnight and try it again in the morning.
There are a lot of functions that are controlled on the 2024 Ranger through the touchscreen that I no longer have access to.
Thanks in advance.

Stopped by the dealership yesterday after work. They tried a couple of reset options but the screen is still dark. They think it is a control module that will need to be replaced. I told them when they have a loaner vehicle available to let me know and I will drop the truck off.
Kind of a bummer since I have only had this truck a bit over two weeks.

Well, they tore the dash apart to get to the inner workings. I was told yesterday that it is a bad control module. Part is ordered and awaiting arrival.
My only concern now is when they put the dash back together I hope I have no squeaks or rattles since there were none when I dropped the truck off.

Finally got my Ranger back yesterday. They had to replace the Sync control module as well as the Sync screen. Plus the GPS module or whatever was also bad. They had the truck for 28 days. I put about 1400 miles on 2 different loaner vehicles. Everything seems good so far. Drove down a bumpy road and no squeaks or rattles so far. Hope these are the only issues I will have with the truck. Time will tell.
