Stuck Driver CV Axle

Just came inside after attempting a pretty routine cv axle replacement, due to the boots being split and clunking when turning in 4wd on my 2018 F-150. I cannot for the life of me get the driver side CV to pop out. I have done plenty of these on other fords, toyotas, rams, silverados… and have had the retaining rings give me trouble, but never like this. I first tried using the axle itself like a slide hammer and simply pulling it out with my hands. I then tried using a pry bar in between the diff and cv… then a larger pry bar between the cv and the frame. I then tried a sledge hammer to the base of the cv. At this point, I am starting to mangle things do to the increased violence of my removal attempts, and sloppy hammer swings as i reached exhaustion. I’ll obviously be cleaning it up and replacing the seals if i ever get this thing out. I actually bent my 3 ft pry bar from pushing / jumping on it with my entire body weight for maybe an hour straight. Am i missing something here? It seems to me like the retaining clip is not happy and is jammed up. If i pull the front diff cover, would I be able to get to the retainer ring?

Have you tried heat yet? It seems strange that it's locked in there like that.
