ladder bar mounting issues..

hey guys, im throwing a set of ladder bars i made on my 76 highboy...my only concern is that the clam that clamps to the axle tube wont be enough strength to hold the axle in place to keep i from sliding up and down from the axle wrap.... let me know if you have any other ideas?..heres a few pics

i dont think these clamps will steady the axle

opinions?

I would:

-Add a gusset plate to the narrower end of the arms. It needs to be strong along its entire length.
-The U-clamps will not exert enough force to prevent the axle from wrapping unless the U-bolt and clamp assembly is welded to the axle. I prefer a rigid mount bolted on the carrier (9-inch) or welded to the axle tubes on both sides of the rotational axes (plural of axis).

Spring perch welded to axle tubes and platform on torsion bars to mate. then bolt them together. At most you snap bolts.. go grade 8, 1/2 inch.
