The A/C compressor on my 93 F-150 tied up the other day so I replaced it, the accumulator, and the orifice tube. When pulling the orifice tube I noticed that it was covered with debris from the old compressor. I was recommended to flush the system which I plan on doing and also put in an inline filter. Is there a kit out there for an inline filter for these trucks or do I have to buy a universal one and make something work? Thanks for your time.
Ford made filter kits
I have a couple
They came in 5/8 and 3/4, straight and 90 degrees, for nylon lined or rubber hose
One type had barbs, the other o rings
We put them in the suction line in front of the compressor Threw the aluminum pancake ones away that came in the kit
These things saved the day back in the 90s when ford made a bunch of trucks and Broncos with no AC oil in them
Every single one of them blew up the compressor in about 4000 miles and contaminated the system bad
We used the 100 dollar a gallon Ford AC flush and then these filters
They are long obsolete, but you can still find them
