Help w/differences between PStroke van vs. Pick-ups.
PS Vans utilize larger turbo to offset the lack of an intercooler, thus have less horsepower. T/F???
PS Vans have a different air intake setup due to the short hood and lack of clearance. T/F???
PS Van utilize similar exhaust configuration, (diameter and contours) as the truck series--T/F???
Both of these lead to my questions!!!
Here are my questions:
**Can I use any 4" exhaust from an "F" series truck on this van?
**I plan to go to either the Superchip 3 position or the Diablo 3 position. Can anyone give me pros and cons to either?
**Diablo also has what appears to be an integrated chipset board. Why would this be beneficial over either of the more portable units?
**Is it true that the '99 and later all benefitted with the better down pipe, (less restrictive) over the earlier systems, but that they have a poorer muffler configuration, (more restrictive) ?
**Could I simply use a '94 muffler and still see HP gains?? (if wanting to get by on the cheap for now...)
I plan to use the pillar mount 3 gauge cluster arrangement with the pyro, boost, trans temp and maybe even a tach--
**Would a tach offer me any usable info?
**All Ford trucks show an oil pressure gauge. But, they are simply a fixed default type--no better than an idiot light. I would like to see true oil pressure vs. a default switch.
**Has anyone done a retrofit of a true sender unit for the existing Ford oil pressure gauge?
**Has anyone done or seen an intercooler added to the E series?? Anyone want to collaborate with me on this??
**Has anyone done or seen any type of a ram-air set up using the short hood with either a NACA duct, hood scoop, or cowl, and going directly into the air filter housing?
Is Banks the best option for the trans mods, (higher line pressure)???
What is the big deal about the fuel tank modifications???
I know, lot's of questions. You are all experts vs me, as I am new to this. I do love this motor however and use it to pull my 24' Pace for a track car and the son's go-karts.
I would like this vehicle to make a reliable 300 or so horsepower and have enough torque to make towing a non-issue.
