I've never heard of a failure of the hose in an S&S kit, but I guess if keeps you awake at night there's this one. It was kind of hard to find on their website, but the kit is $449 and the return filter is sold separately for $199 and is listed as only being compatible with 2011-2016.

There were some earlier kits where the hose blew off the T fitting. Its a failure when it leaves you stranded, and blowing off the T will leave you stranded.

Sure, but that's not the failure they describe in the video. They make it seem like the heat will melt your rubber fuel line. Haven't heard of that happening.

I have to believe there is a reason they shrink wrapped the oem connection.

I believe they had some failures when the Gen 2.1 kit came out, when they replaced the SNAPP filter with the traditional style filter head and Donaldson filter IIRC... I'll do a deeper dive.

Nah, thats just misinformation then. The fuel line used can take high temps and pressures, its designed for exactly the use case it is being used for. The hose slipping was due to weak barbs on the T fitting, they improved the barbs on later kits to prevent the hose from coming loose.

You can put all three of these kits side by side and anyone and everyone will find some fault in it, but in reality, all three get the job done, it comes down to preferences of which kit one likes over the other.

I ordered the new SPE kit a few weeks ago, has not shipped yet and my patience is wearing thin, may cancel it and go for the S&S after all.

sorry to hear SPE still has not gotten their stuff together.

very bad communications

definitely no bi-directional communications.

I tried to buy some of their products and got tired go the generic group emails of "we are so great that we have been flooded with orders and we dont know when you will ever get your stuff) . then they try to loop you into the SHOP app to get order status that way they dont have to bother answering your emails and they dont.

the sooner you bail, the better off you will be.

Is this SPE Motorsports? Snyder Performance Engineering or the knockoff? As soon as it cools down, I am going with the S&S DPK 2.1.

When I do the S&S 2.1 DPK thinking of doing the cheese grater and recirculating baffled CCV from SPE Motorsports. And might as well do the S&B hot side to match the cold side. Sounds like a 12 pack beginning to end.

On a side note, I have had great customer service from SPE motorsports. Thinking the guys that are getting a poor response from SPE is the knockoff.

Hello i have 99 ford f250 5.4 i heard people putting 15 40 oil in this truck. Am a new own is this true.
Bc when I did the first oil change with 5w30 man the truck was nosey. Do I need to put 15w40 to make it quit again? I think? Any responses would be helpful thank you. And ive already replace the spark plug and ignition coils ro have a better response.

the cheese grater has been reported to not work...and even SPE admits that all their products in serial still will not stop internal oil from going back into the intake. I would do an oil sample for fuel dilution before deciding if you want to use CCV traps that drain back into your cranks case. it makes no sense to me to catch hot crank case gases and then drain them back into the crank case once the gases condense.

and yes...anything is possible with todays spoofing....it could be a knowck off company that is spoofing SPE emails and cloning Amy.

the highest oil weight I have seen posted to mask 5.4 engine noise is 10w40, but check you oil weight/temp charts for the oil weight options based on temps. yes 5Wx will not be as quiet upon startup.
