Need a little help, 2011 f 350 6.7.
my trans temps keep climbing, never hit the trans alarm, but 245 was my temp today
I open my degas and it is empty
my main cooling system remains full ( how)
sitting in front of my truck right, running it for the last 25 min and seeing no cooling flow.
I don’t get it.
As all of you know, trans return is here and so is the cold air return.
I know there are “ thermostats” on both side of the radiator , but at what temp do they open
If you are referring to the degas bottle on the secondary system by the radiator, obviously that isn't normal. The waterpump is a dual pump, so could be a bad seal....but not bad enough to leave a puddle on the ground. My 2011 had problem, and you could see the slow drip running down the lower return hose but wouldn't drip on the ground
They are completely separate cooling systems and bottles. The one on the driver side is the primary coolant that cools the engine, the one at the front on the passenger side is the secondary system. It cools half the EGR, your CAC and the transmission fluid. If that bottle keeps running low but you are not seeing any leaks or fluid hitting the ground, pull the CAC outlet pipe (plastic) off and look for coolant in the CAC.
