My 2150 carb is running pretty good now, not perfect, but damn better than it all was. When you first start it, I push the pedal to floor once, and start. It fires right up and goes to 1100 RPM or so. Even if you immediately bump the pedal, it will drop down to 800 RPM. But, I cannot get it to drop from there to the base idle of 600 that I have set unless it runs for at least 5 minutes or longer. Then, you have to floor it quickly to get it to drop again to the standard idle.
Can someone explain how I can adjust this so it skips that middle high idle and just drops all the way to 600 after I start and bump it?
Basically, it has a really high idle, then a high idle, and the base idle. It's like three steps and I would like to be able to start it up and lightly bump it and have it drop to the lowest curb idle setting. I don't know how to make it do that.
I’ve gone through the directions and made the proper adjustments per the referenced post. What I noticed is that my throttle plates on top, even when the truck is hot, never open all the way. I have no marks or references on my choke cover that’s black so I don’t know how to make sure it’s indexed right. How do I do that? My issue is that the plates NEVER open enough for the last small curb idle cam to be engaged.
