I looked at a cab today that was very good underneath but has a good dent in the top corner. Some rust also above doors, but I was wondering if I'm able to get to the cab corner through the shoulder belt opening.
If the rust above the doors is that bad, I would bet the rest is also. It might not look it, but I bet it is. You need to cut all that rust out, along with that dent area. I bet you will not be able to get to all you need to thru the seat belt reel pocket. Time to search for a parts cab.
I'd find a better cab. The dent by the door can be fixed, but i don't think you could push it out from the back without cutting out lot of the inner structure first. Getting the door opening to look right again isn't gonna be easy either, unless you have body work experience or are willing to just shape it out of alot of mud.
That rot above the doors is right where a few different panels overlap and repairing it, correctly, is a very in depth job. Here's a link to how the roof is put together https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...schematic.html
Might be doable reasonably if one was to just chop the roof off half way up and graft a whole intact roof from another cab what is maybe wrecked down low. That open seam and maybe hole from a CB antenna lead have let a bit of water in I'll bet. It would take precise measuring and very fine cuts.
