Amp Powersteps Options

I’ve had the standard powersteps on another truck for years without issue. Seem to work fine and no real complaints.

I’m about to get a set for my 23 and I’m just curious if anyone knows the advantages or benefits of the Extreme version.

the sole difference I can see is they have a motor for each arm/hinge whereas the standard steps only have a motor on the front arm/hinge and the rear one just free floats being pushed by the front motor.

that being said is there a real benefit to make it worth going with the dual motor Extreme version?

I had the same concerns about the two motors vs one (years ago). I realized one is all I needed, I thought if one motor fails or becomes out of sync with the other one it will create a bind issue and possible over heat and blow fuses. It doesn't really make sense why they offer the two when they both have a simple function....up or down. Some people have told me I need the two motors to power through ice and slush if it ever accumulates on the boards during winter, the common reasons to me were silly so I went with the simple effective one motor option.
