my 1990 ford e350 6.9idi won’t start won’t crank. Got a new battery last night because one was bad. Only replaced one to save some cash and the other seemed ok at 80%. One of the terminals is really corroded also. When I try to start it the wait to start light comes on and the glow plugs cycle but when I try to turn it over it won’t crank at all. I can hear the lift pump clicking a lot and there’s one loud click when I try and turn it over.
Use a pair of needle nose plyers or a thick wire, to 'jump' short together the big terminals of the starter solenoid.
See if it does the same thing as when you key to start, sample picture off the internet, it is located on the passenger side fender wheel well area in a truck.
short together the big bolts on the opposite, outside of the solenoid, and see if the starter turns the motor over, then report back.
