Auto column shifter stiff ?

Auto column shifter stiff ?
Is there anything to lubricate column wise or just the trans linkage arms etc with grease etc ? Or is my Shift tube about ready to break like i hear they do

Not the tube usually, it's usually the collar that the shift lever attaches to. Once a fella replaces one, it changes how he "man handles" the lever. 
Mine grew stiff and vague when it let go, I used the Dorman part after painting it ... and yes, I am easier on the lever.
Was in 2013, and I broke the tab that moves the NSS .... but people here on FTE came through.

Well, I caught mine before it total broke and left me lying on the ground shifting the trans to D with engine running to get home. With the switch to bypass the NSS if needed to, I could crawl under there and shift it to D with the engine off, then get in and start the engine in D.
