2000 7.3L Excursion
Has anyone seen an excursion blow #2, 15 and 19 fuses together and keep blowing them?
I have a small burn on the printed circuit of the dash, there seems to be a bit of smoke coming out of the Gem module.
Open it all up and I don't see anything that would be causing it.
Engine does run briefly but without the Pats info it quickly dies.
Anyone have the wiring diagram for these so I can see where the circuits for 2, 15 and 19 feed power to and if there happens to be anything in common between these 3?
Thanks, Rob.
I'll be happy to assist
Do you have any PATS codes?
The common denominator between the three is: PATS and GEM in that order. I'd take a look at the PATS transceiver on the ignition switch and make sure the wiring isn't chaffed or the transceiver has failed.
I'd also make sure your windshield isn't leaking on the driver side causing a short or corrosion on the GEM wiring. The fact that it's burned means that you may need to replace it or get it repaired. Check the plugs going to it and the fuse box itself.
Btw, are you still in Alberta?
There seems to be no chaffing from any of the wiring under the dash and the column.
The unit has been sitting for about 10 years and this started with a low voltage boost incident!
The tried to start it with low batteries and a boost.
Now of course I am trying to get it running again!
I will throw my laptop on it but want to see if I can track down a bit of a possibility as I am worried it may cause an issue with my laptop!
Yes in Alberta, just north of yyc!
The fuses are all 5 amp ones for 2, 15 and 19.
And feed the dash and buzzers and such!
It is on the lower side under the left dash, left knee of the driver!
This is the box that is there!
15 feeds the gem on pin 4 and 16 the brake pedal on pin 3 and pats on pin 1
2 feeds the cluster on pin 3 and the pcm on pin 55.
Can you see if you can find #19 for me?
I can see if I have a short for those 2 circuits give me something to do this morning! LOL
Thanks.
