Hi everyone. I'm working on a 72 f250 camper special. I converted the front brakes from drum to disc, put all new steering components on and a new cab mount and bushings on the driver's side. There are a couple things. 1. That body line is off on the driver's side. The bump lines up but the whole thing angles down from the front fender to the door. I replaced the cab mount cause it was gone but it didn't fix it. 2. The driver's side tires camber is angled more than the passenger one is. I put new springs on it. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance
The factory will place alignment shims on the body mounts in certain locations to fix mis-aligment issues but yours seems excessive.
Has the truck been in an accident?
They were either from Carolina classics or national parts depot. Can't remember now. I'm the 3rd owner so I don't know what the history is. Maybe I'll take the mounts off and jack it up to see how far it's off. I'm trying to get stickers on it so only was fixing things that needed it. All the other bushings are in really good shape. It was only this side. And I only replaced them because the cab mount had rusted away over them.
It looks to be 1/2 to 3/4 inch low at the front cab mount.
Perhaps the new cab mount wasn't installed correctly.
Maybe you could add a spacer in that mount to keep it at correct height.

Either that or the frame mount is bent.
If all the OP wants to do is get it straight enough for new tabs, get some large washers, shim the hell out of it, and call 'er good!

To the OP: Did you replace just the bushings, or the cab mount itself?
Looks like you are missing the fire wall lip that the cab mount is supposed to sit under and help line it up. I would guess that the cab mount is too high and causing the problem.
I took some measurements off one of my trucks a while back for someone else and still had the pictures. So here you go I hope this helps you sort it out.
I've replaced a number of them and recently just did another one on this thread here... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...72-hi-boy.html
It might help to see it vs yours and the lip that seems to be gone on yours.
So going straight down from the top lip of the fire wall under the washer fluid tube splitter to the base of the cab mount should put you right about 23-1/2"
I think your going to find that yours is probably mounted a little too high unfortunately.
Yep you are correct. That lip is missing off of that side and I'm too low. Now I have to decide how to fix it. Either jack the cab up and weld it or shim it.
Did a previous owner weld on new cab mounts? And did them wrong at that? Does the other side look normal? When I welded in new floor pans on my 72 f250, I did them in two parts. I wanted to make sure I didnt get the cab mounts out of the original location. If that is what is wrong, cab mounts are easy to find.
I have no idea what was done before. Yes, the other side looks normal. I have a new cab mount on it. The problem is the lip on the firewall is missing. Maybe I inadvertently cut it out when I replaced the floor pans. I looked for it but couldn't find it. I do know the cab mount I took off was screwed into the fire wall so maybe someone replaced it in days gone by and that was their fix. Who knows
