Torque Converter
Much better.
Filthy.
Old Torque Converter.
Heavy E4OD.
Scrubbed a clean spot with Purple Power degreaser.
Test spot with new paint coating.
Depends how deep you want to go with anything else. Shift kit (Transgo Tugger), or accumulator valve body mods (Punisher valve body for example, for gas, not sure who for diesel off hand, might want to ask up in the OBS diesel forum), Superior shift correction kit, pull the front pump and oil drain back mod, new bushing and staking to hood it in place better.
Best to Google each of those and see if they interest you. I did each of them, I think they are worth it if you have it all apart, not sure if it worth tearing it down to do or not - assuming everything else is working well.
I used the Transgo HD2 kit. I believe you can just do the accumulator vb for shifts, but to complete the whole HD2 kit, requires complete disassembly. Look into that. Another member on here has done a few of them.
I’d also find / make some new front cover plates to keep all that dirt out of there. Doesn’t need to be water tight, but that’s a lot of dirt in there..
I can’t make any personal recommends for the tq converter itself, I used a small custom builder here in Canada (J&K), probably more cost effective to find something local or from one of the reputable trans shops online. I didn’t have the best experience buying parts from Monster Trans. Local trans shop can probably get you one as well. Summit.

I highly recommend to find someone local that can rebuild yours, not sell you one, but actually rebuild yours. If there is a problem, it will be easier to deal with a warranty issue.
Would do the OD spiral snap ring while pump off. Other case seals. Line item order from Transtar or just buy a full paper and rubber kit (Precision I like). May as well do filter. OE steel impregnated gasket reuseable.
