I thought by visiting this web sight there might be someone with some intelligence and not a smart *** remark.

Why would I want to put a junkyard fan shroud on a 15,000.00 restoration?

Because Torque1st is being a realist, not a smart ***. Why don't you move to another web site ..You seem like you're not the kind of guy that will fit in well here.

Double WOW! This site is has been very helpful to me.

There is good stuff at the junkyard. If you want a "new" truck you should go buy one. If you want to do a restoration you need to go get the best fan shroud you can find and clean it up to look like "new". That is how I restore stuff. Replacing it with new is not exactly a restoration more of a R&R.

They're not junkyards. They're "parts reclaimation centers".

That's the best place to look. I don't think anyone is reproducing the fan shrouds yet. Too bad, because this part seems to be needed a lot.

Yeah, they are usually the first casualty of a broken motor mount. Engine comes up, fan comes up, shroud comes apart.
Not a good move smarting off to a moderator, you won't live long at this site by doing that!!!

You would be surprised at all the crap we hear from users at times just for enforcing the rules. It gets real bad at times for Admin. We catch the worst cases. We try to keep this place nice and clean so that anyone can visit it but some people don't like that and have to be removed at times. There are some people everyday that have a minor infraction of the rules and get reminded about them (I am sure some here have been). But it is no biggie. What is wild is that some will go off the deep end and foam at the mouth about a minor infraction and get booted. Surprisingly not very many tho. Most people are good folks.

Just...

It is also strange to see some newbie come on that doesn't even know what truck they have and start arguing with the people that are trying to help them that have hundreds if not thousands of posts. I can think of one example recently of one that came in and pointedly told me I was giving bad examples when all I was doing was trying to get him to understand that some of his "facts" and "logic" were a little off.

I go at least twice a month. I like to check the new arrivals. I found mint condition manifolds & sparkplug sheilds for mine, not to mention all the other little goodies! Also, it is real, genuine Ford parts! Oneford

I wonder if he is talking about this:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=177037

It is a neat modification but not exactly a restoration.

I know places that sell new shrouds because I got one for my '86 Jeep J-10, but I'm not gonna tell him because of his attitude .
