351C stroker combos
I also have Dodge 360 rods, Ford 300 rods, and some Chevy 327 rod.
I have a 351W crank and I thought I'd have it offset ground to fit the 2.00" dia. 5.7" long Chevy rods. The stroke would be 3.8". The question is; would the pistons clear the undersides of the crank counterweights.
I see that a spacer would be needed to realign the pulleys. Is this right Brian S.?
Another combination is to use the Dodge rods and Chevy 350 pistons and offset grind a crank to 3.63".
Aftermarket cranks are available with Cleveland size journals but a stock 351W crank would need the main journals cut down to 2.75" dia. fit a 351C block.
The 351W connecting rods are longer. 5.96" vs 5.78".
The W counterweights may be larger. Stroking by an off-set grind method normally require longer rods. If the pistons don't clear, the counterweights have to be reduced and rebalancing could be expensive. I've heard $500 to balance a 351W after cutting the 400 counterweights down.
What are you trying to do? I'm sure there are more cost effective options.

Far from perfect

So the simple solution is to offset grind a stock 351C crank.
Are there any typical combination for this type of offset grind?
BTW, it's frustrating but I can neither read nor download and clearly print any of the articles on the Yahoo web site. I've tried everything I know to do. I'd love to get copies of that stuff but I just can't get a clear image.

I uploaded the stroker article to my file section. You should be able to read it now.
