Before I can even attempt to try to start the thing I have to put a fuel filter on. Unfortunately the previous owner cut the filter off leaving me with this to deal with:
What are my options here? I tried using pliers but nothing is giving. Any advice I would greatly accept.
You need the special tool to release the spring that is holding the piece of the fuel filter. All the auto stores have them.
The tool fits over what is left of the filter and inserted while pulling the broken piece out with some needle nose pliers.
