What is in my fuel filter?

2011 F350 CCLB King Ranch 213k miles.
I'm embarrassed since I was so late for a change.1st time in 8k since I owned the truck, supposedly done when I got from dealer.
When I changed it, it was only 40deg out so I doubt its gelling. Plus side no metal shavings! I haven't cut open the upper filter yet.
I use HotShots Cetane Boster every tank, or ELD if not avail in the store.
I drive a lot so I get most of my fuel from hwy truck stops, but I also get from a local backwoods station who does move a lot of fuel.

These are all over the filter

Gooey and stringy

Excess glue when they produced the filter, mebbe?

At least it's on the outside of pleats, so there is that...

That is what I thought also, I believe I'd thank the Lord it's on the outside & maybe take a good look at the next filter change.

Definitely Glad its on the outside of the pleats. Only dirty spot on the inside is where I grabbed it with my greezy mits, otherwise perfectly white.
I'm going to cut open the upper tomorrow and hopefully thats clear.
Also going to do another change in a couple tanks just to be sure there's nothing "floating" around in my tank.

Doubtful since the Oil filter was a NAPA one, Ill look for any kiind of markings stamped into them in a bit.
I did replace the oil and fuel filters with Motorcraft ones. Oil and Fuel Filters are one area I don't chance it with.

good enough. Most of the mystrey solved. Don't cheap out on filters that probably were not up to the task,

15K fuel filer change interval is what I run.
