i have my 59 restomod on the road and want to share a tail light solution that i used..
The light output of these old tail lights is terrible but I didn't want to screw up the look of the back of the truck so wanted to keep the original tail light lens.
To remedy this I designed and 3D printed a tail light housing that used 3 lighting circuits like modern cars. 1 for turn signal and flash, 1 for tail light, and 1 for brake light.
i used a halo ring for the tail light and a 1157 .led bulb for the brake and turn signal.

Gordy, the picture of the taillight and brake applied is at an angle. Could you get a more level and straight picture?
I would like to see this and see how much you would ask for a set for my resto. As ideas are still abound in my mind for my truck.
I couldn't take a pic straight on when it was illuminated since it was to bright for the phone camera.

Very cool. Recently I have been learning fusion360 and making new parts so I can appreciate your efforts. For the taillight in my 57, I just slapped some round LEDs designed for semi trucks that had all three functions but your idea is great and more modern. Thanks for sharing.
