I need to replace my carb but am unsure of what model I have. Its on a 81 4.9 300. On the passengers side it reads Manufactured by Carter for Motorcraft. As far as I know its the original carb. Where would I find the model number?

Thanks

Neil

Look on the front of the carb it should be a small metal tab attached to one of the front screws to the carb body

I didn't see any metal tab, but on the front I saw "2624" on the carb and on the right side I saw "73983". Is one of these what I need? I've seen a kit for a 7398 on the web, but that is as close as I've gotten.
