E40D shifting hard into 3rd gear

I had my E40D rebuilt about 2,500 miles ago and about 400 miles ago it started shifting hard going into 3rd gear. It is fine every other gear and is smooth if I have my foot to the floor. Any ideas of what it might be? It is in a 1991 ford f250 behind a 351w. Thank You

My SWAG (Silly Wild A Guess) is that the 2-3 accumulator valve in the accumulator body has a problem. It could be stuck, or have a spring problem.

Ok. The guy that had it rebuilt is local so I might have him drive it and see what he thinks. Didn’t know if there was something common or not.

I highly recommend that you drive the truck with the mechanic in the car. Show him what you are experiencing. Assuming that the mechanic will go on a long enough road test to experience the problem is not how I would do it. Show and tell works.
