Turbo oil

Hi, I have a 2018 ps, my current turbo has shaft play and will be getting replaced with a journel bearing, currently in is a spe ball bearing turbo, my question is what causes turbos to go bad, and if it is oil starvation is a journel bearing not gonna work is oil flow is low?

shutting it down while in full spool, thereby starving it of oil is one thing to consider.

Do you let idle if you have been working the motor?
