Engines available

What engines were available for a 1985 Bronco? Would the engine be carbureted or efi? The Bronco project I bought has no engine. It has an automatic transmission and the column shift shows the OD logo.

In 1985 there was a 6 cyl, a 351w, a 351w HO and a 302.

The 302 was EFI
The 351w was carbed
not sure about the 6cyl. but I *think* it was a (problematic) computer controlled carburetor.
I too have a 1985 Bronco and it has the 351w HO

If you have an column shift selector window showing OD my guess is you had the 302 originally.
My 351w has a C6 (3 spd) 1-2-D

Correct on the engines.

The 300 inline 6 was carbureted (but from 84 - 86, it was the computer controlled feedback setup). It's very easy to retrofit with a non-feedback setup.
It went EFI in 1987

The 302 was EFI. It was the first year of EFI in the Bronco.

The 351w was either the standard or the high output. I think it was 140 vs about 200hp. Both of them were carbureted.

The automatic that's in there is the AOD, unless someone's swapped something else in.

So… what does the VIN indicate was in the truck: 300, 302 or 351W?
