Ford Key Blanks
Recently purchased thru the dash Painless Ignition Switch. Can the Plain Jane keys be cut to ANY Ford key blank ? I am kinda partial to the multi colored keys for 1948 -52 F1 trucks. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

The key you can use in your switch is determined by the shape, size, and location of grooves, if any, of the shaft of the key and the corresponding slot in the switch. Chances are a Ford key won't fit into your aftermarket switch. If you want to use a Ford key, you'll need to procure a Ford switch, or replacement thereof. I'm not familiar with any factory multi-colored keys. Are you sure you aren't looking at some colored aftermarket key?
