Need Recommendations for a Dash Cam.
It’s getting too crazy out there, so I want to install a Dash Cam in my older 2001 F-150. I thought I could use the one in my 2017, but it’s too complicated. Can someone recommend one that is more stand alone? I have pinned out for the 12 volt power in the overhaul console.

I've used Blackvue for 11 years, same system. Twin cams for rear view/front view, as simple as plugging it in the cig lighter socket, or power port, or can be hard wired. The two cams connect via dedicated cable. I ran mine behind the pillar post plastics just under the headliner on one side, then looped it under the head liner so it would allow the rear slider to operate without binding. Never pulled the headliner down, just tuck it under the edge. Been using the power port cable you see hanging, it eventually found it's home under the headliner down the a pillar behind the dash and back up to the port.
They have all kind of models to choose from, I went with the 550 that's now discontinued. Been wanting to upgrade but it still works perfect so I can't justify the expense.
