27 ft/lbs, if memory serves correct.
You can go a few lbs over for good measure. Just don’t try the old spec of 11 ft/lbs.
Agreed with all that 100%!!
I use a torque wrench whose only purpose is my 5.4 plugs and nothing but Motorcraft branded plugs. I also use a dab of nickel-based anti-seize on the plug threads, never had an issue with plugs loosening over time etc. I do try being extra careful on the COP chassis wire connectors to prevent breaking the typically fragile locking tabs--age and mileage do take their toll on those parts.
Don't forget the dielectric grease as needed and recommended.
If you do have an issue a Cal-Van repair kit is not that much. Well if you do like I did and get the Chicom knockoff from my buddy Jeff Bezoz. The original is a little spendy and the Chicom kits work great. 20 minutes and done. Mine was a repair on the recently acquired truck that was messed up. If it happens to me, I may just replace all of them and be done with it.
