I've done a few Google searches for "dash cameras" and along with the numerous YouTube links have found quite a few. Most have been of the CYA variety, intended for use in commercial vehicles that might be subject to liability lawsuits. Some are used to watch their own drivers for violations too.
Not sure how well they'd for for loss prevention since most information is stored on-board (to the camera itself). If a thief steals the cam any proof he did so is gone too!

The "CYA variety" is exactly the kind I mean. I'm not so concerned with the camera being stolen, but with insurance-fraud prevention, as I mentioned above. That's the real purpose of having one.
So, does anyone at FTE actually own one, and if so, what did you use as criteria for choosing the one you have, and would you do it again?
You'll find lots of reviews with their pricing and availability info. I am going to buy Urive brand's shoutgun model, which has 1080p front cam and 720p rear cam and records simultaneously. It's a bit pricey though at $300.
