I need to identify my rear end. It is leaking and I need the drive shaft seal and diff cover gasket. It is a Dana 44, big 44 stamp on the chunk. The door and glove box plates are gone and there is no tag on the axle. The drive shaft is not off set but in the center. I power washed it and been scrubbing the 70 years of grease and grime off but no identifying marks yet. I did find two patents on it.
I need to find the parts before I pull it apart. The parts I have seen so far have the input shaft offset, mine is in the center so I am cautious. The input seal and rear cover gasket is leaking badly.
