Jumping the Self Test Connector is how you drain the tank if you need to replace the in tank pump
The fuel pump power wires go through the tank selector switch
My mistake. Both tanks share the same fuse and relay so I’m not sure what replacing those parts was supposed to do. I incorrectly assumed that both were getting power but the truck will not start on either tank which is why I thought to see how much pressure you were getting. What year truck donated the tank and pump assembly?
it was out of a 86 but it was fuel injection so it’s all the same

Incorrect. The fuel system changed in 1990 from low pressure pumps in the tank with a mechanical valve in the reservoir and a high pressure pump on the frame to high pressure pumps in the tank and no reservoir.
Ford would change the wiring every couple of years. Are the pumps wired the same? Do you have power at the pump?
Jumper Pins 2 and 6 on the diagnostic link under the hood, then turn the key to the Run position. The fuel pump relay is supposed to energize and stay on with the jumper in. This is a basic test to verify the fuel pump voltage supply circuit is good. It removes the computer from the equation. Now is a good time to invest in a DVM and simple incandescent test lamp.

I did what you said now the pump works but it still only runs on starter fluid
No. A 1986 pump will not work in a 1992 truck. The 1986 pump only makes 15psi. 1992 trucks need 30-45 psi. It may start and idle poorly, but itll stall if you press the gas pedal.

ok I have a wire off the passenger side fuel rail that’s stopping it from running where does it go?
Right, your engine needs 30 pounds of fuel pressure to run
They will actually run at around 22 lbs, but the spec is 30-35
You can just buy one of the 44 dollar Delphi pumps online and install that in your sender
You get the primary side solved? and have power to the pump now?

OP must have skipped over what I said in post #18 about different in-tank pumps.

Show us a picture of said wire. You said the rear pump didn’t work so how did the front pump continue to work without this wire?
