I have a Cornwell digital torque wrench that I have lost the screw for the battery cover. I called Corwell and they tell me that torque wrench has been discontinued since 2009 and they have zero information on it other than the item number I gave them and that its manufactured by CDI Torque Wrenches. When I called CDI, they told me they never made or make anything for Cornwell. When I called Cornwell back to verify, she told me CDI made a limited batch of these torque wrenched. I also spoke with a Cornwell tool truck owner and he has no information on his end.
I have been to a hardware store and a specialty bolt/nut place. Neither place has anything that small, nor do they have anything to tell me the thread and pitch so I could order online.
I called the repair place for CDI and automated recording tells me to leave a message, they are receiving higher than normal call volume......we all know how that "leave a message and we will call you back" goes.
The Cornwell Number is CTW-1002ETW and on the back is these number laser etched 0707400021
Anybody happen to have a connection to somebody that could get me an old parts diagram with information with the screw or anybody have this torque wrench that could tell me the thread pitch and length.
If you have a Lowe's or Home Depot near you they should have a thread guide in the nut & bolt area. That would at least tell you whether it's metric or standard and the thread pitch. If they don't have the correct screws you might try McMaster - Carr they are on line and sell to the public. the only down side is you might have to buy a bag of 50 or so just to get the one you need.
If you have an electronics store - not like a Best Buy, more like a place you'd go if you wanted to buy components and etch a circuit board - near you, they may be able to help.
I lost a similar screw, didn't have one in my collection. I went to Walmart, bought some trinket (for 99 cents) that had a similar screw holding its battery cover on. Removed the screw - which fit just fine. I tossed the trinket in the trash......
try a laptop/computer or electronics repair place if you have anything like that near you.
I still have a healthy assortment of random tiny fine and coarse thread fasteners back from my IT days. They're tiny and easy to lose and you could fit thousands of screws in a coffee mug so we always saved them.

Can't read your post in dark mode. It's completely blacked out.
UPDATE:
Not sure who exactly I ended up speaking with to get the answer, but I got in contact with somebody who was able to send me a parts diagram and then I contacted a repair facility who was able to get a clearer image of the parts diagram breakdown. For those that may care, the screw is a 2-56 x 1/4" and they offered to send me a few replacements.
