Potential automatic wiper issue

2024 F350 Lariat ultimate.
I have noticed a potential issue with the automatic wipers. During light rain/mist the wipers activate to the slow mode. Within about 15 seconds the wipers go to the fast most and stay on this mode. The only way to stop this is to turn the wipers off. This seems to happen in any position of the wipers settings I turn the **** to. Naturally turning the **** to fast works as directed. I repeated this several times with the same results.
Not sure why the fast wiper motion comes on after about 15 seconds of the slow motion wipers being activated?
Is this possibly a sensor or a computer issue or am I missing something?

Have you tried cleaning the windshield where the sensor is? Maybe there’s a dead bug or something on it.

Not sure if this is still an issue, but with Ford's crap QC, it wouldn't surprise me. Many have found the sensor not completely clicked in place or the special pad not applied properly or sliding down because the sensor was not tight against the windshield.

My auto wipers were crap until I saw a post about it, pulled the cover off and mine was only clicked in on one side. It had been that way for a while and with the heat, the pad had slid off too. Ordered a replacement pad, cleaned it all up and put it back together the way it should have been. Auto wipers work flawlessly now.

I have the 2024 F350 KR. My wipers are the same - driving me bonkers, well more bonkers than usual. I have noticed that sometimes when I come to a stop, they will 'reset' themselves, but not every time.

My 2017 had this feature and it worked flawlessly.
