Updated firmware version of tuner after removing for F250 recall warranty work on the PCM. Reinstalled tuner and now my truck will not turn over when you turn the key. I have disconnected both terminals on both batteries to see if that will go back to stock programming. Any suggestions comments concerns would be greatly appreciated. My truck is dead. I don’t have a OBD II handheld. I only have the fore scan program that is outdated thank you guys.

If you used a tuner to load a new tune, disconnecting the batteries will not restore the original tune.
The original tune should now be stored on the edge tuning device, to restore it to the truck, you would have to use the tuner and select the proper sequence to reload the stock tune to the truck.
And, if you have an edge tuner, then you do have a OBDII handheld.

Thank you very much for that wonderful information !! This CTS handheld tuner I have had in my truck since 2019 when I purchased it new .it only keeps going back to loading the Ford can data and it fails and returns me back to the main screen over and over and then a pop-up saying “we are unable to communicate to the Ford PCM please call technical support. “
i’m trying to get a hold of tech-support with Edge but so far not working well. So could you please if you can provide a little more detail for me as I am not a motor programmer at all? I’m just a plug it and play edge tuner user I normally use for scan, but my laptop died. this is not a CTS three tuner it’s a CTS2. I am purchasing a Inova smart diagnostic system at AutoZone tomorrow.
Yeah, calling tech support in the morning will be your best bet.
Something got corrupted in the tune, hopefully tech support can get it straightened out.
I take it that when the truck went in for service you did not change the tune back to stock, just unplugged the CTS2?

Umm no. Didn’t want Ford service to find out. I had a tuner in it because it’s an illegal tuner so I did change it back to stock.

I’m picking up a Innova Smart Diagnostic system for my truck today. Would you be able to “fix” the PCM issues with this scanner? Thanks
Oh yeah, I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with Alec from tech-support. And we tried everything that Edge/Holly has up their sleeves and it didn’t work. My PCM is totally locked. Had it towed back to the dealership after I spoke to them and they would flash my PCM or have to replace it. I’ll find out next week. Edge is only giving me $150 towards the repair. The minimum that the Shoppe charges is two hours and that’s 150 an hour so I’m out 300 just to drop my truck off there. I think Edge is a little caught up. In the efforts that Ford is making on their trucks to prevent tuners from being used on them I think that is why this stupid recall was even generated just to prevent 67 turbo diesel owners from letting their trucks run properly and do a manual re-gen to keep the filters and the sensors all in good running condition. I think Ford sucks and Edge did not step up to the plate for me. I enjoyed my tuner while that lasted but I’ve got a bolt that the tuner broke on my truck because I didn’t put the upgraded head stud kit in it like I wanted to four years ago. I’m just gonna get the mother****er running and call it good!
It sounds like your tuner may not have fully reverted the truck back to stock settings after the PCM recall work. Since you don’t have an updated OBD II tool, you could try performing a hard reset by disconnecting the batteries for a longer period, say 30 minutes or more, to see if it resets the PCM.
If that doesn’t work, your best option might be to update your Forscan software or find a current OBD II scanner to diagnose any issues properly. Lastly, consider checking out Dieselino for options that could help with a full delete solution, which may bypass some of these tuning complications: https://dieselino.com/collections/ford-2017-2019-6-7l

i’m in California. I don’t think this is legal for Mr. Gavin Newsom. You must be from out of state I would love to delete all the crap on my rig. Meanwhile, Edge/Holly sent me a brand new Tuner and it works great. Thank you.
