'08 Water Separator issue
I am unable to turn the lever on the water separator valve to drain any water out of the unit. If I remove the sensor, won't its removal also allow the same thing and drain most all water from the unit? I realize it is located slightly higher than the drain, which may prevent a slight amount of water from being drained.....but getting most out is better than none........

Thanks in Advance, Guys!

Motorcraft CG810 is the gasket set you’ll need.
Thanks for the reply.

I hear what you're saying, and that does sound like the thing to do and I will likely do just that..... for some reason I am just very apprehensive that I will screw something up when I take it apart. I do not have a WIF dash icon lit, so this effort is just because I can't move the lever and I fear as to how long the lever has been froze up before I bought her. I am not having any symptoms of WIF, so..... This ol' girl is one tough ol' broad - but she is sooooo rusty underneath, I am worried to wrench on much without snapping/breaking/twisting something off.
I have a set of fuel line disconnect tools on order and hopefully I'll have them by the weekend.....then maybe I'll take the dive into dropping the front driveshaft and removing the whole fuel filter/drain unit.

SWEET - blue buttons - that is really good to know!
Can you tell me if I should expect a fuel oil bath once I start disconnecting the four lines?

Will the disconnected lines start to gravity siphon out lots of fuel?
If so, is there anything I can do to limit how much fuel they dump?
I am sure the line connectors are original to this truck - can I expect them to still be good/leakproof if I was to re-attach them to the cleaned up unit - or should I plan on replacing the connectors with new ones?

Thanks in Advance for your guidance, my Friend!

Always try and clean the connectors out before you remove them, brake clean into the ends, twist the lines a bit back and forth, wiggle, push the blue buttons a few times to help loosen any stuck dirt, brake clean again then pull them off.
Thanks for the heads up on the possibility of getting a fuel bath and to be careful with pre-cleaning the connectors and not kinking them. I'm aiming at a Saturday AM tackle with this task! Wish me luck!
