The original Carter carb on my 79 250 with 300 shaft base is worn out so i picked up a Chinese one for temp use until I found the time to dedicate on repairing the Carter.
Now the question I have is which of the following numbers are what you call the carb number. To be able to track down proper repair kit.
MFG By

Reason: Add Could be G 2433
Single barrel carter on a 300 is going to be a YF or YFA. Carbs should have a metal tag on them, but most get tossed in the rebuild. Mike Carburetor parts will have a kit that will fit the YF or YFA.
68 Flareside240 , So, tag is long gone prolly 40 feet down in some land fill.. LOL
How do I tell a YF and a YFA. Just courious. I will contact Mikes for the kit.
Beartracks, The shaft play is the reason for the temp replacement until I had time to install bushings and rebuild the Carter. Real hard to obtain a good idle with the shaft leaks...
