My replacement engine came with a 12 month warranty of its own and I still had a little over 25k left on the original factory warranty. I pestered the dealer until they got Ford to approve a 60k mile warranty for the replacement engine. Only two years time for my trucks. but better than one year remaining.
Wow both engine and transmission? What was the problem with the engine and was it laterally replaced?
If both were at the same dealer I would find another dealer that must be a rare case to have complete driveline failure on the same truck. Will your rear end be next?
So a few months ago, I got a whole new 7.3 from Ford at about 37K miles. Do you think that the engine gets a reset on the 60K powertrain warranty?
SADLY NO! the existing power train warranty remains in place , if it had happened at say, 59.600 you would get a parts warranty on the engine which is 3 years no miles limit on gas motors 2 years no mile limit on diesels https://parts.ford.com/content/dam/f...yStatement.pdf
The 3 year/ unlimited and 2 year/unlimited only apply if you purchase the engine. If Ford pays for it, you only get the remainder of the powertrain warranty or 12 months if it was replaced at say 59,999 miles
