First long trip

Traveling from North Central Washington to Del Norte Colorado. This is my first trip with this camper hauling with my F350 DRW. Weighed in at 13740! She’s heavy but rides nice. Only suspension mods are Timbrens and super stop sway stops on leaf springs.
Came down through Salt Lake City, highway there is total crap! Very narrow lanes and just full of really bad drivers. Think I’ll be heading home going through Denver, probably not much better as far
as traffic but at least it’s a different route.

Wow, that is a really nice setup! What is with the white structure under it? I have never seen that before.

That is a Stable-Lift.

While I understand the concept I could never get used to the way it looks.

Unless you take the camper off a lot , would you need all that stable lift hanging off the truck , looks like it would do a lot of damage if it caught something and ripped it off.
I almost tore off a cars bumper off when he got to close to my LH rear jack in traffic.

It is a little wider than normal and in Traffic it can be a handful, specially in narrow lanes. I love this system though because it is safe while loading and unloading compared to the ****ty jacks that were on all four corners. For me that’s all that matters and a plus is it’s super easy to level and super stable off truck.

Nice rig!

If you're going back through Denver, I suggest you plan on taking E470 around Denver instead of I25 straight through. Register your vehicle's plates at expresstoll.com and it will be automatically paid from your chosen form of payment. Going through Denver, especially downtown, is not at all friendly to large vehicles, especially between Yale Avenue and 84th Avenue. I bet you'll definitely enjoy E470 at least $22.25 more, and it will be worth the tolls. Unless you are the type that enjoys traffic jams, tight clearances, angry drivers, noise, cigarette smoke, ancient low bridges with chunks of concrete falling off from being struck so many times by vehicles and weather, and various other forms of shenanigans found in cramped downtown freeway areas.

If you don't register with E470 in advance, they'll send you a bill in the mail, but if it gets lost etc. you'll end up going through more to sort things out than just registering in the first place.

Thanks for the heads up.

I came up from Del Norte area. Took I 70 up to Denver and caught I 25/87 at at the Twin Lakes area. I 70 wasn’t bad until the last few miles. Lines of cars on the small two lane heading up to see the fall colors going the opposite direction. I took this route versus going back through Salt Lake City, now that was a zoo, never again. Denver didn’t seem that bad plus it was a Saturday morning so that may have helped with the traffic. .

Yeah, Saturday morning would have helped.

Years ago, they started up a grand plan to widen I-25 through Denver. In 2022 they canceled it and redirected the money to alternative transportation projects.

Every time I've been there, except sometimes on weekends, it has been fairly jammed up in that area . . . and looks to stay that way until things change.
